Rise and Fall, 2007
Kinetic sculpture.
Rise and Fall, is an installation that explores the state of flux. The flags serve as a metaphor for cycles on the micro and macro level: houses, cities, civilizations - history's story of dominance and defeat. The piece works to create the feeling of pushing out of the hill, then dying, settling, back into it.

The piece was constructed of wood from demolished houses and shacks in the Pittsburgh area.

Rise and Fall was a BigBot commission for Robot 250, a robotic festival in Pittsburgh.
